Did you know …?

You can make sturdy, homemade tree tags out of soda cans.  Member Eldon DeKay cuts the top and bottom off the can and slices it open to flatten out the metal.  He then uses tin snips to make a three inch tab on one end and to round out the sharp corners.  Make two slits in the wider end just big enough to fit the tab (see diagram.)  Use a screwdriver or other sharp object to engrave the tree name on the wider portion of the metal.  Wrap the tag around a tree limb and insert the tab into one slit and out the other to hold the tag in place!
