Saturday July 21 – Palmer area visits to the State of Alaska Plant Materials Center (5310 S. Bodenburg Spur) and Ilona Farr’s orchard (3700 Bodenburg Butte). Meet at the PMC at 1pm. Scroll to bottom of post for directions.
Saturday July 28 – Two tours set in the Spenard area, starting with Michelle Wilber’s gardens starting at 1:00 pm (1008 W 30th, between Arctic and Spenard) and immediately afterward at Dave & Hedy Rankin’s garden (4025 Balchen Drive).
Saturday Aug 4th – Visit to Government Hill Commons / Community Orchard Meet 10am at 20 E. Loop Road.

Directions to PMC (from Anchorage): Drive north on the Glenn Hwy; Take a right at the off ramp to the Old Glenn Hwy. Go east on the Old Glenn Hwy about 8 miles and follow the highway left across the Knik River bridge. Continue going north on the Old Glenn for another 3 miles. Turn left at the blinking yellow light at the intersection with Bodenburg Loop. Go 2.5 miles and turn left onto Bodenburg Spur Road at the Tee intersection. The PMC is located 0.5 mile down this dead-end road on the right.
Directions to PMC (from Palmer): Turn south on the Old Glenn Highway from the Glenn Highway in Palmer. Go 7 miles and turn right onto the blinking yellow light at the (2nd) intersection with Bodenburg Loop. Go 2.5 miles and turn left onto Bodenburg Spur Road at the Tee intersection. The PMC is located 0.5 mile down this dead-end road on the right.
Directions to Ilona Farr’s orchard (3700 S. Bodenburg Loop) from the PMC: Go back past the Tee intersection and continue down S. Bodenburg Loop for 1 mile. Turn left onto Doc McKinley Avenue. You can park on the shoulder of this road. ( Ilona’s orchard is on the left.)
