Our first orchard visit of the summer will be to the Boyer’s greenhouse and orchard on Saturday, June 9 at 1:00 pm. Many of you have been to the Boyer’s greenhouse for the annual pruning workshop in March. But we thought it would be nice to actually visit the outside orchard and see what is going on when everything is growing. Yael Hickok will answer questions about the Boyer’s fruit growing operation, and share her experience with having beehives on site.
Directions: Go west on E 81st Ave. off Old Seward Hwy, (Just north of Dimond Blvd.) Greenhouse is at the end of the block on the right.
No toilets on site.
A brief reminder about etiquette: No pets, no rowdy children, or non-members on tours (unless they are paying for the annual membership fee of $16 and bring their filled-in application form found on our website). Please wear appropriate footwear as the grounds may be uneven and, if wet, may be slippery. Of course no cuttings or other disturbances of our hosts’ property as we would like to be invited back again. (Note: Please respect our hosts by sticking to the schedule and not causing inconvenience to them by arriving early or at a time other than with the club.)
